ACE-031 is a synthetic fusion protein that acts as a myostatin inhibitor by binding and blocking activin and myostatin, proteins that normally limit muscle growth. It was developed to promote muscle and bone growth, especially for conditions like muscular dystrophy, but clinical trials were discontinued due to mild side effects like nosebleeds and blood vessel dilation.
